'Tis the season for Hot Cacao! During the holiday season, our sugar intake goes way up with all the goodies we consume. When we consume too much sugar, our bodies have a harder time fighting off sickness. We see a lot of sickness this time of year. BUT, we still want to be able to enjoy the holiday season, we shouldn't have to deprive ourselves of treats, but there is a healthy way to make almost anything these days.
I decided to make a heathy hot cacao, and my family LOVES it. Instead of Milk and tons of sugar, I chose 3 ingredients that would be allergy friendly, AND beneficial to our bodies. Coconut milk( or almond), Cacao powder, and raw honey.
Benefits of cacao:
-loaded wit antioxidents
-good source of magnesium/ calcium
-Boosts mood naturally
Benefits of raw honey:
-boosts immune system
-providees natural source of energy
-helps with blood sugar levels
This recipe is super easy, all you have to do is put all ingredients in a pot and heat until all cacao poweder is mixed evennly and milk is heated to your preference.
ingredients:
5 cups coconut milk (or almond)
1/2 cup raw honey
3/4 cup Cacao powder
instructions:
mix all ingredients in pot and heat on stovetop, stiring ocasionally.
